Terms of use

Plain English, because terms nobody can read protect nobody. Last updated 8 August 2026.

What this site is

SubBegone is an independent editorial directory. For each paid tool it publishes one question — could you build your own instead, with an AI coding agent — and an answer, with the reasoning, the price we observed, what you would give up, and a prompt you can run.

It is free to read. There are no accounts, no paywall and no premium tier, and using the site means accepting the terms on this page.

The verdicts are opinion

Every verdict, score and comment is our own editorial opinion, formed from publicly available information and our own judgement. It is not a statement of fact about a company, not a professional recommendation, and not advice about your business.

Reasonable people disagree about these judgements, and we sometimes change ours: when we do, the change is recorded with the date and the reason rather than quietly replacing what came before. Nothing here should be relied on as the sole basis for a decision about spending, cancelling or building software.

How entries are made, and where AI is used

Every entry is drafted with the help of an AI coding agent and then read, checked and published by a person. The description, the "what you lose" list, the prompt, the named alternatives and a proposed verdict and score are drafted that way; what is published, the verdict and score that actually appear, and the recorded price are decided by a person.

Nothing reaches this site automatically. No automated process may publish an entry or change a verdict, and a change to a verdict or a score is refused by the software unless it carries a written reason, which is then recorded with its date. The disclosure page sets this out in full.

Prices and other facts

Prices are the publicly listed headline prices we observed on a vendor's own pricing page, on the date recorded. They change without notice, they vary by plan, currency, region, contract and negotiation, and they may be out of date by the time you read them.Always check the vendor's own site before deciding anything. Where we have no reliable public price, we say so instead of estimating one.

Names, trademarks and marks

Product and company names are the trademarks of their respective owners. They are used here for identification only — to say which tool is being written about — which is ordinary descriptive use and does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, partnership or endorsement in either direction.

We do not use vendors' logos in our own branding or marketing. Where a small mark appears beside an entry it is the site's own publicly served favicon, shown at icon size purely so the row is recognisable, or a plain mark we generated ourselves.

Descriptions on this site are written by us. We do not copy vendors' marketing copy, documentation or other content.

Our own content

The original material on this site — the descriptions, the verdicts and their reasoning, the "what you lose" notes, the prompts, the categories, the copy and the design — is ours, and is protected by copyright. The prices and product names it discusses are facts and trademarks belonging to others, and we claim nothing over those.

This site is our own independent work. Its code, its wording and its visual design were written for it. We do not copy any other publisher's code, text or visual identity, and if you believe otherwise we would genuinely rather hear from you than not — see below.

Corrections and right of reply

If a fact here about your product is wrong or out of date — the price, the plan, what the tool does — use the form at the foot of this page and say which entry and what is wrong. Factual errors are corrected quickly and at no cost to you, and the correction is recorded with its date rather than quietly replacing what was there.

You are also welcome to send a reply in your own words, which we will consider publishing alongside the entry. Being written about here is not something that requires anyone's permission: this is independent editorial comment on publicly available information about a product offered to the public, and an entry is not removed because its subject would prefer it were not published. A correction fixes an error; it is not a route to withdrawing accurate, lawful comment.

If you believe specific material here infringes a copyright or a trademark you own, tell us which material, which work or mark, and how to reach you, and we will assess it properly. Well-founded complaints of that kind are acted on promptly.

Submissions

If you suggest a tool through the form, you are telling us a name, a domain and an optional note. Do not send anything confidential, anything that is not yours to send, or anything about another person. Suggestions are read by a human and most are not published; sending one does not entitle you to a listing, and by sending it you allow us to use it in deciding what to write about.

Sponsorship and referral links

Sponsorship buys a fixed, labelled slot and nothing else. It never buys a listing, a verdict, a score, a ranking, a prompt or a mention — not for the sponsor and not against a competitor. A tool that appears on the list cannot buy a slot at all.

Where a page carries a referral link, it is disclosed on that page and set out in full on the disclosure page. A referral relationship can never influence a verdict, and by our own rule such a link may only appear where the verdict says to keep paying — never where it says you could leave.

No warranty, and limits

The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it is complete, accurate, current or uninterrupted, and we do not promise that a prompt on this site will produce a working replacement for anything — that depends on your requirements, your skill, the tools you use and the model you run it through.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from relying on this site, including money spent, money not saved, time spent building something, data lost, or business decisions taken. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Acceptable use

Read it, quote it with a link, share it. Do not scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other readers, do not republish the dataset wholesale as your own, and do not attempt to interfere with the site or with how it counts. Automated access should identify itself and respect robots.txt.

Changes

These terms may change as the site does. The date at the top says when they last did, and continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.

Which law applies

These terms and any dispute about them are governed by Italian law, and the courts of Italy have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim there.

Contact

The form below reaches a person. Nothing on this page is legal advice, and it does not describe your rights under any particular country's law.

Write to us

It reaches a person, and the reply comes from an address you will then have. Nothing sent here is used for anything else.
