Featurebase

YES

Replaceable in one session with an AI coding agent.

Feedback boards, a roadmap, a changelog and a help centre in one product, with widgets that drop into an app so users never leave it.

Promptfree, for everyone, and the only version there is
Build the board and the changelog. They share one table each.

STACK
- Astro with a Node adapter, SQLite, two widgets

ONE IDENTITY
- A user is identified by a signed token your app mints, passed to both widgets
- Never let a widget accept a raw user id from the page: sign it

FEEDBACK
- Posts with a status, votes as events, and status history appended
- Duplicate detection by similarity before a new post is allowed

CHANGELOG
- Markdown entries with draft, scheduled and published states
- Publishing a changelog entry can close the feedback posts it references and notify their voters

THE WIDGETS
- Each under 3KB, dialog based, keyboard accessible
- Unread badge on the changelog from a stored date

MODERATION
- Rate limit posts per user per day, and hold the first post from a new account for review

Include the token format, both schemas and the link between them.

What you lose

  • Feedback, roadmap, changelog and help centre sharing one identity, so a user is recognised across all four
  • Widgets for each, maintained against browser changes
  • Moderation tools for a board that has become busy

If you would rather not build

  • A static changelog in your repository
  • Canny, for the polished hosted version
